Green Velvet Telephone Table

French provincial style telephone table with drawer. This vintage find has a ton of charm, and is upholstered in a green velvet fabric with nailhead trim. 

The telephone table, AKA gossip bench, was invented in 1876, but was most commonly used from the 1920s - 1950s. Telephone tables were typically found in the hallway for ease of access to the stationary telephone. The drawer would have been used for a directory or address book.
