Also known as a refectory table, as a refectory was the name of the dining room in monasteries and convents. This style of table was used in monasteries in the middle ages, and over time, the style grew in popularity and was seen commonly in castles, châteaus, and family homes.
It is common for this type of table to have cylindrical bases with a stretcher running the length of the table between them.
This beautiful table was found locally, and has an antique base in a darker finish, with a new top that has been sealed in its natural color. This would make a lovely dining table or a large desk or conference table for an office.
