Tasting Notes

  • Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux Wine Region is known for its easy-drinking style, but wines are also well-made from historic vineyards on sunny hillside slopes. Boasting some of the highest elevations in Bordeaux, each Côtes varies depending on its proximity to the Garonne River. Castillon wine appellation has 70% Merlot plantings, of which it's followed by 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. This particular region of France is located on a limestone plateau and shares the same soil with Saint-Emilion. So, the wines are also round, fruit-driven and have soft tannins.
  • Ripe red berries and stone fruit (plum and cherry), violet, leather, and raspberry.
  • Expressive and solid with a fine, full, and generous tannic structure, with a lovely finish.
